Last Class of 2015 - Holiday Lights

Post date: Dec 13, 2015 6:22:52 PM

I met up with a few of my students in downtown Syracuse for our last class of 2015. Our focus was the holiday lighting displays found around downtown, and boy did we have fun! Despite the lack of snow and a balmy 50 degree evening, we were able to create some joy in our photos. Below are a few of my favorites and here is a link to the class album:

Enjoy, and Happy Holidays!!

Here is the historic Niagara Mohawk building, normally seen with Red and Green illumination, however this year just plain white lights.

An antique pedestal lantern in front of the Clinton Exchange building.

Some twinkle lights in a small tree with red berries.

I used a long exposure and twisted my lens to create this effect of the tree seen above.

By using a long exposure and zooming my lens, I created this "hyperspace" shot of the downtown Cmas tree.

The Syracuse Menorah on display for Chanukah.

Dare you enter? Might you meet Voldemort? This is the Syracuse Savings Bank building.

A classic wreath display on the Post & Standard newspaper building.

Some Christmas bokeh.

Even Ben is ready for some caroling!
