Exploring Ithaca, NY

When my wife was unexpectedly called into work during our holiday break, I took the opportunity to tag along with my camera and spend the time shooting a couple of the notable sites in Ithaca, NY. I visited both Ithaca Falls and Buttermilk Falls State Park. Here are my best shots - enjoy!

ITHACA FALLS

Ithaca Falls and its outflow.

An artistic shot of water around a riverside tree.

BUTTERMILK FALLS STATE PARK

The Buttermilk Falls SP area map.

The outflow from an old swimming hole in Buttermilk Falls SP. The dam footings are still in place.

Christmas in the woods! I spotted this along the Bear Trail.

I call this Jenga Cairn! :-)

The downstream pool and falls from Lake Treman.

Part of the ledges and falls downstream of Lake Treman.

I definitely will be back to explore the rest of what Ithaca has to offer. As many bumper stickers state, Ithaca is Gorges!
