A Dickens' Christmas

Post date: Dec 14, 2014 8:16:21 PM

Braving the crowds and the endless hunt for parking, my wife and I visited Skaneateles, NY to view their famous Dickens' Christmas celebration. More info about the event is here: http://www.skaneateles.com/visit/events-a-attractions/dickens-christmas

It really helped get everyone in the holiday mood and the characters were fabulous and accommodating to the visitors and shoppers (except Scrooge, of course!) I was able to grab a few photos - enjoy!

Charles Dickens, just before addressing the crowd.

The Ghost of Christmas Present.

A pair of London street urchins.

Constable 2nd Class, Morris Lounsbury sets a visitor straight.

Caroling at the town gazebo lead by Father Christmas, Queen Victoria, Lady Charlotte Anne, Duchess of Buccleuch, and a collection of other dignitaries.

Scrooge and another character look on, unimpressed by any of the festivities.

Happy Holidays to everyone!
