Snow and Rain

On two different occasions in January, I was able to meet up with shooting buddy Rod and wander around Central New York for some photography time. The first outing we were blasted with a lake effect whiteout, which was quite exciting! On the second outing, we endured endless rain, which was far less exciting. :-) In spite of the weather we both came away with some good shots. Here are my favorites. Enjoy!

Our first stop was the Syracuse airport, where reports indicated our local visiting Snowy Owl had returned. Voila!

Then on to Pixley Falls SP, where I shot this self-portrait by placing my camera on a ledge and shooting through the overhanging icicles.

Here are the falls.

Then, the whiteout hit. I quite like this shot for its feeling of urgent serenity. (If that's a thing.)

The next trip we enjoyed some shots of local boathouses. The lighthouse is kind of whimsical.

This is a frequently shot boathouse, as it's easily spotted from the main road.

I like this one, because it has a kind of hidden feel to it.

That's it for now!
